Complete and balance the following equations, and identify the
oxidizing and reducing agents. (Use the lowest possible
coefficients. Include states-of-matter (s), (l), (g), (aq) similar
to the given reaction.)
(a) MnO4-(aq) + Cl-(aq) ? Mn2+(aq) + Cl2(g) (acidic solution)
Balanced equation:16H+(aq)+2MnO4-(aq)+10Cl-(aq) ?
2Mn2+(aq)+5Cl2(g)+8H2O(l)
oxidizing agent: MnO4-Correct.
Reducing agent: Cl- Correct
(b) I2(s) + OCl-(aq) ? IO3-(aq) + Cl-(aq) (acidic solution)
oxidizing agent:OCl- Correct
reducing agent:I2 Correct
(c) Cr2O72-(aq) + I-(aq) ? Cr3+(aq) + IO3-(aq) (acidic
solution)
Balanced equation
oxidizing agent
reducing agent
(d) Pb(OH)42-(aq) + ClO-(aq) ? PbO2(s) + Cl-(aq) (basic
solution)
Balanced equation

reducing agent
Just starting to get really frustrated with these. I know how to do them (I completed the first one without much issue) but cannot get the rest of them. I don't know what it is that I'm missing/doing wrong. will give addition points for the correct answer as well as good work. Thank you in advance!!!
