It is important that vaccines doesn't cure any disease but vaccines can reduce the risk of a disease. The research says that people who taken vaccines had a less chance of getting infections or diseases. In most of the other countries it is not important to take vaccines and most of the citizens are unaware of importance of vaccine. So as a nurse we are responsible for proper health education of client.
Pertussis and varicella vaccines are serious diseases. Pertussis is a respiratory tract infection caused by bacteria also called as whoozing cough. It can spread fastly. Varicella or chickenpox is a viral infection. So as anurse we should collect the history of patient and family properly. If the patient miss any vaccine we can discuss with the duty doctor and take necessary steps or precoutions while caring the patient. And also document it in their record which help other healthcare proffesionals to identify the patient easily and take necessary safety measures.
The primary barrier faced by a nurse while caring this patient was patient at risk of getting infection. The patient is lacking acquired active immunity. So we should take care of patient by provide special attention to the patient. All procedures should be done under sterile manner.
