According to various developmental theories in respect to understanding and development emotions, within few months they understand and reflect the emotions of their parents. Children begin to understand emotions at a very early age, and at the age of around two, children are able to understand feelings, emotions, can empathise with other person. In case of Danielle she would be very well able to understand the emotion of sadness that the other child may be going through, will show genuine concern and also try to comfort the unhappy child . Such understandings and encouragement through parents enable Danielle to develop emotions of empathy, care, understanding emotions of self and others ,and healthy social bonds .
