•Disciplinary procedures include following steps-

Initial understandings of the issue

Thorough investigation of the problem

Inviting employee to disciplinary meeting

Deciding on action to be taken which include first level warning, final and written warning and final dismissal.

Put the outcome in writing form

Providing right to appeal

•Disciplinary policy- They are written in staffbook outlining the procedures taken if employees fail to meet the expectations of the standards conduct.

Investigating Disciplinary problems-

When the offence is substantial in nature and it is not the employee's first miscounduct then investigation of the issue is needed to resort to formal steps.

Gathering all the informations required for establishing the facts.

Taking the account of witnesses to check whether they possess necessary evidences

Holding investigation meetings with employee concerned

Managing final records of the notes and evidences

If the case is about gross misconduct, employee can be suspended while the investigation is going on.

If no case to answer the investingation, then same can be stopped then there only.

Otherwise, formal disciplinary meeting is to be followed next.

Some major grounds for dismissal are-

Failure to deliver the job expectations

Misconduct whether it is disciplinary or gross misconducts like theft, illegal activities, violence etc.

Long term illness which makes unable to discharge the duties of the job position

Redundancy-When employer requires to reduce the workforce.
