Correctional officers and Police officers have very similar responsibilities but in different settings. Both are handed the responsibility to use their brains and physical abilities to maintain peace and make sure that the law is not broken. Correctional officers do their jobs in prisons, jails, and vehicles that transport inmates, whereas Police officers work everywhere out of it in society.
Correctional officers require tremendous efforts and patience in their job. The need to manage situations inside the prison that are very stressful and dangerous. Police Officers on the other hand deal with haywire situations to maintain public security and also need to put in a lot of physical efforts along with unusual work hours.
Both the Posts require a High School Diploma or equivalent and have to complete the Training Academy Program as a qualification.
