The difference between domestic and international terrorism is that;-
domestic terrorism involves violence against the civilians population or infrastructure of a nation often but not always by citizens of that nation and often with the intent to intimidate, coerce or influence national policy.
International terrorism refers to the terrorism that goes beyond national boundaries in terms of method used, the people that are targeted or the places from which terrorist operate. since emergence of al qaida in the 1990, international terrorism has largely become synonymous with islamic terrorist.
the distinction between domestic and international terrorism refers not to where the terrorist act takes place but rather to the origin of of the individuals or groups resposible for it. for example the 1995 bombing of murrah federal building in oklahoma city was an act of domestic terrorism but the attacks of september 2001 were international in nature. international terrorism poses the greatest threat to our national security.
