The conversion is successful. The echocardiogram shows that Joe’s left ventricular ejection fraction (EF) is 47% and there is moderate aortic stenosis.
Explain what this test result means.
The ejection fraction is important in determining of heart pumping function. 41-49% is the moderate dysfunction of the heart. The aortic stenosis is the narrowing of the aortic valve which decreases blood flow from the left ventricle to the arteries. The heart pumping function to ejaculate the blood from the left ventricle is moderate. When the left ventricle becomes narrow (greater than 50%) then the pressure in the left ventricle increases which increases the resistance of aortic valve. The increased pressure lead to the left ventricle dilation and decreases the cardiac output. This can affect the patient's life but it can be treated with proper management and lifestyle changes. Some of the recommendations which include
