Are Americans becoming ruder in their interactions with one another in the business environment??Explain and document your reasoning using scholarly and peer reviewed journal articles and/or texts.
Answer-
Americans becoming ruder in the business world. I would hope to say no since that could affect customer satisfaction. According to the Rudeness article, “if the rude stranger represents a specific company or place of business, one’s negative reactions to that person might also translate into a decision to stop doing business with the establishment in question”. Rudeness presents a unique problem to businesses. Every individual is different. Business can make policies and procedures to let employees know what is excepted from them. The brand/company is everything it tell future or current customers what to except from the company. I know Apple didn’t advance being rude to their customers. Customers are what makes a company become something, advance into a new market. No company will go to far without customer service, “The customer always right!” even if they aren’t. Restaurants customer service has to be top notch as well as their food to make money. According to The language of customer service, research studies shows that customers care more about quality than they do speed. “Creating goodwill with customers doesn’t cost a lot of money. The intentions of the giver affect the value of the gift.
Though, rudeness is sadly becoming more widespread in the business word. Due to the increased levels of anger and stress. According to the Presentation: Rudeness in American Business Culture, “Once unhappiness with a situation sets in, our human nature compels us to react with feelings of anger” and “Ephesians 4:26 which notes “In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold”. No human on earth is perfect, we should strive to be the best version of our self. Putting negative energy into the environment we are in, won’t fix anything. A favorite quote of mine, “Treat people the way you would like to be treated”. It’s a simply and basic quote but if more people took this quote to heart and thought what kind of way they want others to treat them maybe the work environment won’t be so rude.
