Provide three examples to explain the differences between strong and weak cultures
Strong cultures refers to the set of norms, tradition, habit,
symbols, values and techniques that greatly influences the
behaviour of the members.
A weak culture refers to the culture that is individuallystic where
by norms, tradition have very less impact on behaviour.
1. Countries having weak culture allows people to wear according to
their desire.
Countries having strong culture doesn't allow people to wear
according to their soul desire. They have the dress code imposed by
their country or religion.
2. Weak culture allows people to live according to their values and
principles. People can live independently.
Example : lifestyle in western countries allow people to live
independently as they want.
As strong cultures follows several norms and traditions people in
these countries are also compelled to follow this tradition and
beliefs.
Example: countries like Saudi Arabia compells religious and non
religious people to follow their religion.
3. People in weak culture doesn't keep strong relationship with
family members and peer group.
People living in strong culture country give much importance to
relationship and values.
People are more happy in weak culture countries because there is no
hard norms and culture and they are free to live as they wish.
People living in countries which follows strong culture found
living less happily because they have to follow several norms and
activities which is imposed by their culture or tradition.
