Expert Solution

Women hold more than half of US Managerial positions but they hold far fewer of the top executive positions. To overcome this imbalance some colleges are offering executive education courses for women only to empower them to be future leaders.  Not only colleges but even organizations like Johnson & Johnson works on such programs helping women network & gain confidence.

To understand such programs are ethical or would be different if they were held for men only can be explained:-

  • Here the programs like Johnson & Johnson Women's leadership & inclusion (WLI) employee resource offered to empower women aimed at achieving the potential of women by overcoming gender inequality at all levels - across the business.
  • Everywhere around the globe as per the research it says in the last 25 years women have joined the labor force at all levels & makeup 40% of the global labor force which is a tremendous move to make women participate in the workforce. Here such programs are critical to giving the right to women to gain freedom for work, be independent & stand on thier own.
  • Here women need the shaping because there are a lot of societal norms against them as our past history states how women are been treated for the work & all. It's not only about gender equality but women face a lot of challenges in the current workforce which such programs are required to give more access to women to come forward & take initiatives at all levels.
  • The programs like women empowerment are ethical because it's not differentiating anybody as gender or favoring a part of gender but it's just that women need reform to change their old mindset & by making them coming forward by bringing reforms at all levels such as individual, relational & societal survival.
  • There are programs that run specifically on women, on men & both of them as to empower overall as communities. There is no such difference as per gender as such. It's just that women have unique qualities which are different from men as they bear the child by becoming mother, face a lot of pain in handling both the work & home, many of them leave the workforce due to various issues which are against as per society norms in certain countries. To address such issues these programs are quite essential to educate them & support them to come forward even whatever may be the situation.

Here such programs on empowerment on women are really essential in many countries so that they can face the following challenges:-

  • To overcome the societal norms & changing the mind shift about them regarding working women.
  • To overcome the challenges faced due to the risk of working.
  • To bring the change among women by empowering them to be self-reliant & confident on thier own.
  • To support them by creating a community that widely gives the courage to fight for thier rights fundamentally as they do possess some unique qualities apart from men.
  • To overcome gender differences by educating both men & women about it.
  • To stand together in providing the support for the girl child to be raised, educated & make her serve for her family, society & country & large which in some countries still its imbalanced.
  • Overall such programs bring a paradigm shift in creating women leaders, managers, politicians, businesswomen, scientists & also reshaping thier careers in all fields in giving the freedom by educating every woman to be independent by recognizing thier inner potential & strengths.

Therefore, such programs should not be encouraged by one company like johnson & johnson in empowering the women as a community but also many organizations & individuals must strive to work for each other to overcome the challenges the women faces in the work environment, education & overall so as to make them stand on their own with proper support & care which they are the future of every country equally to men.
