Expert Solution

Hi,

Hope you are doing well.

You can simply use kinematic equation for uniformly accelerating bodies.

Here the phone is uniformly accelerating under gravity.

We know that, According to kinematic equations, Final speed of the phone is given by,

Where,

is initial speed of the phone,

is acceleration of the phone,

is distance travelled by the phone/height of drop,

Final speed of the phone is given by,

But we are asked to find final velocity of the phone in miles per hour (mph).

Correct option is option (B).

Hope this helped for your studies. Keep learning. Have a good day.

Feel free to clear any doubts at the comment section.

Please don't forget to give a thumbs up.

Thank you. :)
