A hotel runs several advertisements in the student newspaper of a local university, promoting its Sunday brunch menu. The ads increase the number of people visiting its restaurant, but only slightly. Is the campaign necessarily a failure? What other goals might the hotel have for this advertising campaign? (Answer thoroughly.)
Before discussing the topic in details we have to know what is
advertisement and what are the importance of advertisement.
Advertising is a powerful sales promotion tool wich educate the
customers about the product or business through the medias like TV,
magazine, newspapers, catalogues, bookless, posters, radio, card
etc..
Advertisement provide a lot of benefit to the business and
customer. They are:
Introducing new product
Increasing sales
Create steady demand
Good will
Increase the moral of employees
Educate customers
Receive quality product
Utility of existing products.
Advertisement may not bring quick or short term adventages but it
may provide long term benefit to the hotel .
Giving Ad in the news paper is not a failure at all because the ad
may attract students gradually as the restaurant is opened on
Sunday and also they are serving brunch. In off days students may
wake up late and the brunch will be beneficial for students. If
they are providing a standard food at reasonable price they can
retain the customers. Thus they can maintain the goodwill. A loyal
and happy customer may bring more and more customers and they act
as ambassador of the business. They are the back bone of company
and they act as ambassador of business .
As they are residential students they may not have their own
transportation facilities. So the restaurant near to University
will be a blessing to them.
So we can clearly understand advertisement brings adventages only.
It may not make sudden impacts to the organisation where as it may
lead to the ultimate success of business.
