Guidelines
Guide only, feel free to organise however else you like to as long as you address the learning outcomes and elements in the rubric.
* Introduction
Introduce the general issue and its importance
Identify key trends or perspectives
Identify the specific focus of this literature review (your identified issue)
Give a brief outline of the structure of the body
* Body
Cluster your literature around common themes or threads of ideas. Structure your writing thematically and not author by author. This allows you to compare, contrast, and make sense of the different authors’ perspectives on one point./ And if you find there are a lot of authors with some contribution to one point, then maybe that point needs to be teased out into sub-themes
Try not to hide behind what the literature is saying. Remember, it is up to you to interpret it and make sense of it for your reader. Listing what they have found or believe is part of a literature review, but in itself is not enough, you need to clarify what the reader is to take away from this body of research
Never be afraid to narrow your topic. You have a word limit, which is enough to make one meaningful point, but not to include detail for its own sake. It is better to dig deep into a topic rather than be broad and superficial
You may have to limit your question many times before you finalise your draft. Spend time considering your question/topic, because this provides the guidelines for your writing and your research. You need to have clear guidelines so that you can research with purpose and efficiency, even if these guidelines are modified later. Otherwise a lot of time and energy will be wasted, either, looking at irrelevant material, or material that cannot fit into your review
* Conclusion
Summarize the major contributions, evaluating the current position, and pointing out flaws in methodology, gaps in the research, contradictions and areas for further study
Conclude by summing up and identifying the significance of the topic in relation to the literature
* Please ensure that you write succinctly to avoid wasting your word count. Note that unnecessary words weakens your argument. You should keep within +/- 10% of your word count
* Check for spelling and grammatical errors. Loosing marks from errors that could be addressed through editing is not worth it.
* Make sure that all references are correctly referenced using APA style
* Refer to Unit Guide for more information about the unit requirements
Aboriginal means Inhabiting or existing in a land from the earliest times
In the aboriginal community, the issue of raising a child is depending on the entire family that is biological parents and extended family and relatives. In such cases, the adoption is not required it is assumed the bringing up of the child is the responsibility of the entire family In some cases, it is felt to have a proper adoption done. The law seeks to protect future generations of Aboriginal. the children are separated from their families, communities, and culture.
Although many numbers of Aboriginal adoption has taken place in Canada by very little research is done on the subject. It is very important to know and examine the experiences of children raised in families outside of their racial and cultural heritage and the difficulty a child is facing regarding general psychological adjustment, Racism continues to be a divisive force within society in North America it is important to know the difficulties faced by Aboriginal children in racial identity development and psychological adjustment,
To date, the researchers have failed to identify the paste family ecological trauma an Aboriginal child faces in general psychological adjustment, within a white family The result of the research is controversial due to racial discrimination and prejudiced.
There are several reasons for discomfort by the adoptee child is due to the following reasons,
1. Racial discrimination among transracial adoptees or Aboriginal adoptee,
2. Adjustment difficulty. The child adopted adheres to their culture.
3. Identity struggle: Aboriginal children raised in non-Aboriginal families have to struggle for their identity and this is in direct relation to experiences of racial and cultural oppression.
In Canada, the aboriginal children have faced discrimination. The residential school system involved the forced removal of aboriginal children and forced to study far from their home. They were severely punished for speaking in their language.
Due to unique sociocultural experience, it requires to examine them as a distinct racial and cultural group. There are many numbers of Canadian Aboriginal children adopted in the US due to lack of restriction while in America the adoption fees are very high.
The result of the research done by a researcher showed that some aboriginal adoptee is really facing discrimination hardship and physical tortures. While one of the aboriginal children showed that he was he loves and affection was given to him.
It is a fact that the families behavior depends upon the circumstances if the child is adopted with the reason to raise beautifully he will be correctly safeguarded if the adoptive parents cannot take proper care of the adopted child from the different race the stigma of adoption can bring suicidal thought in them if not care properly.
