A vendor converts the weights on packages she sends out from pounds to kilograms (1kg ~ 2.2lbs)
(I know the answer she wants me to get...she says " a and b decrease in weight"....How is that a real answer...? The weight does not change. just the SI units. If we are supose to use SI units then the weight doesn't change. ((W = m*g and I don't think mass and gravity are changing here)) if in statistics you aren't suppose to use units then the "numeric value" would change. But you can't have it both ways....right? What am I missing. Thanks for any help in advance. The answer is less important to me than the explanation.)
a. how does this affect the standard deviation of the weights?
b. How does this affect the mean of weight of the packages?
C. if the vendor begins using heavier packaging, which increases the weight of each package by 50 g. how does this affect the mean weight and standard deviation of the weights?
