As per my analysis & research
made on the above question that whether the all patient case-mix
index measures the proportion of inpatients versus outpatients is
true or false is explained below:-
- As per taking into consideration
the case-mix index in medicare often it is confused with clinical
work than that of the financial part. The CMI (Case-mix Index) is a
measure were the financial department monitors the budget &
other resources that are required for treatment & all.
- The CMI (case-mix index) is an
important performance indicator for the hospital not because it
tells the big story on inpatients/ outpatients rather it shows the
impact on hospital finances, measures the average severity level of
the hospital procedures, determines the hospital's reimbursement
rates & so on. Therefore if the CMI is high it indicates the
cost is high to manage the cases or vice versa.
As per all this analysis, it's clear
that the statement is FALSE - As CMI measures the
proportion of inpatients versus outpatients.
