Please read the question that follows: “Is the organization structure of Walt Disney representative of a “centralized” or “decentralized” organization?” Explain why it is difficult for someone who is not a member of this firm to respond to this question.
Walt Disney has a decentralized organizational structure. It is because most of the decisions are made by middle level or lower-level managers instead of by the head of the company. The president or the CEO is at the top of the company and then follows a long list of people having unique assignments to manage which are followed by more unique assignments to be managed by other managers. There are multiple sub-companies or subunits under Disney and each sub-company or subunit acts as an individual identity.
It is hard to tell what kind of organizational structure Disney has for those who are not a member of this firm. It is because the company is vast and it is quite hard to know who is managing what unless you have been through the corporate affairs of the company. Also, there is not much information available in the public domain to reach any conclusion about the organizational structure of Disney.
