10.possess conceptacles at the receptacle tips
A. phaeophyta b.chrysophyta (Bacillariophyta) c.chlorophyta D.All phyla E.Rhodophyta
1. Option C- Chlorophyta. Chlorophyll b is the pigment present only in green algae(also in higher plants). The other divisons given are brown algae, red algae and bacillariophycaea. They do not have chlorophyll b.
2. Optiob B-Chrysophyta ( Bacillariophyta). Its the diatoms coming under class chrysophyta, possesses two different body shapes- The one which is radially symmetrical and other with bilateral symmetry. Radially symmetrical diatoms are called centric. the centric diatoms also said to be the "pill box" shaped one. They have discoid chloroplast with radially arranged striations.
3. A- Pheophyta. Generaly the algal plant body is called thallus, in which the body is not differentiated into different organs like leaf, stem, root etc. But in some pheophycean members like sargassam, there the plant body is much more developed. It is having leaf like structures, air bladders and root like structures. Eventhough they possess these all, true leaves or stem are absent.
4. Option E- Rhodophyta. Phycoerythrin is the red pigment. It is present in red algae along with chlorophyll.
5. Option D- All phyta. Chlorophyll a is possessed by all chlorphyceae, rhodophyceae, bacillariophyceae and pheophyceae. It is the primary photosynthetic pigment, which is directly engaged in energy conversion.
6. Option D- All phyta. All possess cell wall but differ in the wall material. Diatoms have cell wall of silica, rhodophyta , phaeophyta and chlorophyta with cellulosic cell wall.
7. Option C- Chlorophyta. It is the feature seen in the order cladophorales , coming under chlorophyceae. Here the thallus is composed of a number of ceonocytic cells.
9. Option E- Rhodophyta. It is the reserve food material in red algae. The brown algae possess laminarin, green algae have starch and diatoms have chrysolaminarin as reserve food material.
10. Option A- Phaeophyceae. The conceptacle is for gamete production. All other groups lack conceptacles.
