Discuss some major problems and issues that can cause (a) network design in general, and (b) LAN design in particular, to fail.

Solutions

Expert Solution

ANSWERS :

ANS 1. a) Major problem that can cause network design failure :

- Hardware Failure : If a device that is connected in a network design fails this will eventually lead to the failure of the entire network.

- Warn out equipments : There can be many old devices that can lead to network failure, because they might not be able to work at their full potential.

- Possible Security threat : If there is any attack on the system that can increase the load on the system and eventually decrease system performance.

- Damage in the equipment : This can be caused due to any temperature conditions, increased humidity and also due to water damage.

- Power failure : When there is no backup and a short circuit leads to power failure than the network can fail.

- Routing problem : This can be caused by a configuration error .

b) Major problem that cause LAN design failure :

- Damaged card of Ethernet : those cards which are of bad quality of installed will lead to failure of LAN in the long run.

- Undesirable protocols : Sometimes the devices connected to LAN are installed with extra useless protocol that becomes cumbersome and brings fault to the network.

- Poor Switch assignment : This is the case in which too many devices are connected to a single switch this causing LAN bottleneck condition.

- Server overload : this can cause LAN failure because the server is not maintained up to the mark.

- Damaged devices : The device that are connected to LAN if they are worn out and not working according to the needs can lead to LAN failure.

- Power blackout : if there is complete failure of power to the devices connected to LAN.

Question 1 Cash flow problems are a major cause of insolvency and it is often created by the delay in payments by customers. Cash flow planning involves making sure that a business generates enough cash at the right time to meet pressing liabilities. For example, many manufacturing businesses have a cash cycle.
