One of the most important things about the society over a period of time is that the longevity has increased due to the advancement in the medical field and the social security measures available for people to lead a decent life. This would mean that a society such as the US that follows individualistic and materialistic economy which makes people run after pleasure and they are also afraid of aging and taking responsibilities. Thus, people try to avoid marriage and child birth which leads to many people aging without getting married or bearing children. It has made the US with more aging and less young population. One of the most important implications of this trend is that it would reduce the work force in the future which would directly affect the economy. Secondly, it would increase the expenses for the aged people in terms of medical and housing apart from the other allowances.
