1. In engineering drawing what are hidden lines used for?
2. What is sectioning used for and how is it represented?
3. Why are three phase power systems represented using only single lines?
4. What is CAM, Briefly explain what it is?
5. In one sentence explain what Finite Element Analysis (FEA), name three advantages of using FEA.
1) In enginering drawing the hidden lines are used to show the edges or the features that are not otherwise visible to the eyes or are hidden behind some other part.
2) Sectioning is used to show the view of a structure as if it is cut through any imaginary plan. It is represented by cross hatching, shading etc.
3) Use of single lines in three phase power systems helps in getting a simple diagram and leaves enough space for the drawing of other electrical and non-electrical components such as description, labeling etc.
4) CAM is the short form for Computer Aided Manufacturing. It can be understood as the use of a computer software to to transalate the drawings into a language that can be read by the used in manufacturing like CNC etc.
5) Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is defined as the simulation of a physical phenomenon or behaviour under a certain given conditions. Its advantages are:
