To me honesty means to be truthful in all cases with my own conscience irrespective of subsequent events. One that has evolved over the years through families, business and social ethical practices. Strong character is a non-negotiable prerequisite for our goals and aspirations to be accomplished. The battering ram is the one that helps one to smash through challenges and develop into a better life. Any struggle that we face on our path to a better life will either knock us down or make us stronger. There is no middle ground in there. When faced with challenges and tough times, it is the strength of our character that encourages us to not only confront the storm, but turn it to our advantage. I believe that Integrity should be the same at home or at work. I strive to be the same person before the audience as I am behind the scenes. When the heat is on it always brings out what's inside. We don't have the luxury of keeping up looks in a crisis or under heat. It's at moments like this where our acts show who we truly are — for good or bad. I'm always questioning myself-Am I the same outside of work? Will I exist in the various peer groups differently? Does my atmosphere describe my voice, or is it coherent whatever it might be? People in any crowd, who respect honesty, are the same. It's not necessary to popularise.

What counts is being able to carry integrity to the table regardless of the environment. You can only do that if the dignity is yours. That means being the same person in all surroundings. Character is not really who we think we are. That is just who we are. Almost everything in life you can fake but not your heart. Either you own it or you don't. Character means doing the right thing, no matter what others might say. Sometimes, this involves standing alone and behaving with bravery. In relation to the aforementioned example, I feel that Abelina should note the fact that her assistant Joanne developed the formats. Even at the risk of missing out on her boss's gratitude.

Conclusion Joanne is likely to admire Abelina and have a strong appreciation for her as well. Not just that, I believe there is always a reward for good and fair work. Who knows, her boss may even end up giving her a promotion because she knows she can trust Abelina and count on her. It might be hard to do the right thing, but it definitely pays off!
