A. Miyan Tansen was considered and is still being considered the greatest of musician , he was one of the nine gems in the court of Emperor Akbar.
B.Purandaradasa who was a poet , a spiritual icon started the form of Carnatic music and also to reach it to people.
C. well here in INDIA we have many religions and caste and language and food habits and attire and different ways of praying by now you should know that in the north of India people mostly spoke different forms of Hindi and mostly the style of music originated very early based on the gods and goddess they worshipped and their way of using the words are different and here in South India we all have different languages and not different forms of the same language like the state of KARNATAKA speaks Kannada, Kerala speaks Malayalam, Andhra speaks Telugu and Tamil Nadu speaks Tamil and the languages we speak in is so different and also the way we worship gods differs bit not kuch and we mostly celebrate different festivals than the people of North and our language way of dressing and our spirituality makes a difference in our singing .
D. George Harrison played guitar but he also played the Indian Sitar , he was interested in the ideologies of Lord Krishna and with the devotees of the Radha Krishna temple in London he released songs about the Lord himself and was attached to Indian music and mainly he played the important instrument I'm India ,The Sitar.
John McLaughin prominently played the guitar he had a band named Maha Vishnu who like George Harrison believed Vishnu , whose another form is Lord Krishna that Harrison believed in , John was deeply into Indian philosophy and felt a spiritual connection with Indian music and he also.learnt to play the veena just like the sitar and was deeply touched by the kind of music.
