Solutions

Expert Solution

Let us consider the e-commerce segment where the following companies are major players.

  1. Amazon - Amazon is an online retail marketing platform where one gets to shop from a variety of sellers in various categories.
  2. Alibaba - Alibaba is another online retail Chinese conglomerate that operates on a global scale.
  3. Walmart - Walmart is online grocery store that has almost all edible products at competitive prices.

These three companies almost occupy 80% of the entire market share of online marketing. Their business efforts include exploring new market segments and having services established globally.

The major competition concerns include marketing same product across multiple platforms. For instance let us assume that a merchant wants to sell Samsung TV in amazon as well as Alibaba at the same time with price variations in each platform. This will result in a confusion for consumers and reliability factor plays its part. This is one of the major competition concern for e-commerce segment organizations.
