how intrusions applies to interpersonal communication
Interpersonal communication is a way of interacting with people . It is of two types :
a) Verbal : Involves oral communication eg: Interacting face to face communication.
b) Non verbal : involves communicating using hands , gestures, body language etc.
Thoughts surrounding fear, violent , crime , aggresion , harming people by murdering them , etc. are considered to be the intrusive thoughts . People who are secretive , timid in nature usually do not disclose about their sorrow. They generally keep it with themselves , and hence there arises the problem . The thought of self disclosure is absent among these kind of people.
People generally sharing thoughts with peers, friends , family tend to commit less of intrusive action .
it causes a sense of distress among people. Intrusive behaviour includes sexual/violent actions which are not accepted by the society.
Eg : OCD is an intrusive action. It is a disorder , which compels the person to think repeatedly , persistently about a specific thing . It causes a huge amount of distress and anxiety among people.
