So basically the software copyright and patent are both same in some way as they both are used to protect your invention or to protect your code or software but still there is a difference between Software copyright and Software Patent

	Copyright	Patents
	Copyright is basically applied as the original work of authorship that the person who is getting the copyright is the real author the copyright products are such as books, articles, songs, photographs, sculptures, choreography, sound recordings, motion pictures, and other works etc	Patent is basically applied on the Inventions as mostly the patent right is been applied on the machines or on some devices as it means that they will be improving it in the future also so the patent right is also been applied on that
	copyright is been applied on the work that must be original	Patent is been applied on an invention that must be new and never been made.
	Copyright is been applied for Author’s life and plus 70 more years.	Patent is been applied for 20 years
