It is used to measure the quality of health plans by the employers and individuals.

HEDIS can able to measure how well health plans give services and care to their members.

It is used to see whether they are performing well or they need to improve.
Health plans collects their data of their services and types of care performed. The plan will track how many children get immunisations. Then they will report the data to National Committee of Quality Assurance NCQA. It will rate the health plan.
