What is the critical value of the correlation coefficient needed for rejection of the null hypothesis if your degrees of freedom is 30 and you are conducting a two-tailed test using the .05 level of significance?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Solution:

Given:

df = degrees of freedom = 30

We have to find the critical value of the correlation coefficient needed for rejection of the null hypothesis for two tailed test.

Level of significance = 0.05

From above table , we have  the critical value of the correlation coefficient = 0.349

That is: r critical value =0.349

Thus we reject null hypothesis , if calculated value of correlation coefficient >   r critical value =0.349 .
