The 1968 science-fiction film, Stanley Kubrick's 2001, A Space Odyssey, used a space station that was shaped as a wheel, rotating at a rate to produce a centripetal acceleration to assimilate the force of gravity. List advantages and disadvantages of this attempt to provide a human environment for the astronauts?
The major advantage of articial gravity is that when you are in a weightless environment for a prolonged period of time then your muscels and bones starts to deteriorate i.e our body thinks that there is no longer to keep them so they starts thinning.
The major advantage of this attempt to provide an artificial gravity is that their will be a constant resistive force for our bones and muscels which will keep them healthy for long period of time
The major disadvantages of this artificial gravity is that this method is simply not economical. To get the gravity similar to earth you will need to rotate the spaceship at a reasonably high speed or you need to build a space ship with reall large radius in order of hundreds of meters, which both are not economical atleast for current level of technology we have. And if we are able to surpass these difficulties then we will face another problem where our head and toe will feel different level of gravity due to different distance from the center of the spaceship which will cause abnormal blood flow in our body and may cause several complications in our body.
