Would you expect a cell of a multicellular organism to be more or less complex than the cell of a unicellular organism?
ANS-Multicellular organisms are more complex than unicellular organisms because unicellular organisms are made up of single cells but multicellular organisms are made up of multiple different specialized cells whose functioning is different according to the requirement of the body.
Difference between multicellular and unicellular cell representing the complexity of multicellular cells.
Multicellular cell | Unicellular cell |
It is formed from multiple cells. | It is formed from one cell. |
Many specialized cells are present that perform different functions and all tasks of an organism. | Single-cell individually performs all functions and tasks of an organism. |
Long-life span. | Short life span. |
Injury in a cell does not lead to death of an organism. | Injury in cell can leads to death of an organism. |
Orgasms reproduce through the asexual mechanism, such as conjugation. | Organisms reproduce by producing and fertilizing the gametes. |
Example-Humans, Lions, Fungi. | Example-Amoeba, Bacteria |
