Solutions

Expert Solution

Von Neumaann Architecture: IN 1945, Von Neumann introduce us is computer architecture design.

In it, there are 3 components :

1.  CPU: The central processing unit executes the operations specified by the instructions given to it.

CPU further contains the following components:

  • ALU: Arithmetic operations like add, subtract and logical operations like AND, OR etc are done by the ALU
  • Registers: Data that is needed to do operations are stored in the registers
  • Control Unit: It controls the ALU, memory and all input/output operations
  • Buses: the means by which computer sends and receive information from one part to other parts

2. memory unit: To store data, the memory unit is used. It could be RAM, main memory or secondary memory

3. I/O devices: Input devices are used to send information from user to the computer. Output devices are used to send information from computers to the user.
