  • Language- It is a way of communicating one's thoughts and ideas either by speaking or writing, with others. It encouarges an effective communication to take place between people. For eg, Speaking in english langauge in the class.
  • Norm- It invoves a set of rules and standards to be followed by everyone belonging to that particular group. This ensures a good conduct in behaviour. For eg, wearing formal clothes for an interview.
  • Folkway- It refers to a way of life of people belonging to a community. This kinds of put a societal pressure, which encourages the individual to act and interact in a particular way, For example, In guruduwara, we are supposed to wait in line for the darshan.
  • More- It is a kind of doctrine reflecting what is right and what is wrong. These are more structured and more strict in nature. For eg, In India, live-in relationships are still not considered acceptable.
  • Value- It refers to one's embedded belief that has a should aspect. These are difficult to change as it becomes an integral part of the person's outlook in life.  For example, moral values, ethical values, etc.
  • Belief- It involves the thought component of a person's view point. And it forms the basis for one's attitudes. For example, belief in god, belief in any rituals.
