In: Operations Management
Directions: Act as if you are applying to a fictitious company. Thoroughly answer each question.
. Tell me something about yourself. (What do you really want to do?)
What jobs have you held? What were your duties and responsibilities?
What jobs did you enjoy the most? Why? Least? Why?
What can you offer? What are your strengths? Weaknesses?
What have you done that shows initiative or willingness to work and learn?
- I want to gain a formal learning in the art and science of managing people and then would want to build my career in product management domain. I would want to learn all the skills required to pull off this role so that I can constantly grow in the same direction.
- The jobs that I held was of a trainee, assistant product manager and product expert. My main duties were to handle the internal product of the organisation and I was allotted a team wherein I was responsible for writing specs for the team, getting the work done from them and report the final numbers to the management.
- I enjoyed being the assistant product manager because I was given the responsibility and ownership of the entire product and I realised that I enjoy more working independently rather than working in somebody else’s directions.
- I can offer my experience in managing internal products because I have strengths like people management, resource optimizations, and good communication and also I am a good listener who implements all the relevant feedback to improve the product. Weaknesses are that I need to learn how to delegate work and also should be able to multitask.
