Today we are going to talk about Health Information Technology in which we are going to take the example of a health care center and then we will talk about how are they managing data at their end.

Type of Healthcare setting & PGHD:

• So, the healthcare center we today are going to talk about consist of healthcare setting of Ambulatory surgical center and is one of the biggest organization in the locality with ample amount of workforce to maintain data for using certain information technology tools.
• There are also certain departments in the hospital like operation department, clinical advice department, counselors, etc. Also, there are different buildings or facility for different types of diseases and surgeries depending upon the situation of the patient.
• Also, the hospital department consists of lots of patient that too from diverse reasons such as various kinds of diseases, operations, surgeries, etc. Due to this, the data generated by the patients was also very vast.
• The organization consists of the patient-generated health data being created, recorded and stored by the patients or the family members in certain different systems located in the hospital department.
• The data was also quite diverse which could consist of health records of the patients, biometrics data, treatment history, data related to the accounts department for each patient, etc. The data for each of the patient was very valuable as a slight mistake in the data can make the patient suffer.
• Hence, the hospital was also making use of healthcare IoT monitoring devices and applications which generated more sensitive data which was fueling the growth of PGHD and can also be shared electronically to the patient and anyone who requires it instantly.
• The integration of the PGHD into the healthcare delivery can easily lead to better remote patient monitoring management even without pushing any workload on the frontline of the clinic. Such PGHD will also help effectively in reducing the readmission rates as well as the costing that was behind this during the hospitalization of the patients.

Hence, the hospitals are quite happy looking at the potential of these data which were able to provide a holistic view of the patient's health and also the quality of the treatment also increased over time due to such data collection and analysis techniques used within the hospitals.
