Susan Wolf defends her view against the criticism that she hasn’t really solved the problem of free will by making a distinction between moral responsibility and metaphysical responsibility. Explain what she means by this
Responsibilities are being considered as a trend in present time. There always remains a scope of analysis. This analysis belongs to the conditions of responsibilities. This responsibility and its analysis fails due to occurrences of metaphysical problems.
Praise and blames become two forms of such types of analysis. A person can be criticised in same condition but at the same he/she can be also get praise. Suppose there is car accident. Driver can be praised for saving a child's life by destroying his own car to footpath.
At the same time he can be blamed for using mobile phone while driving. Criticism and praise totally depend on the observer. It depends on the circumstances in which the incidents has been observed. It also depends on the mental status of observer.
So, there always remain a problem to make a distinction between moral responsibility and metaphysical responsibility. It depends on various circumstances. Various factors play an important role in making a decision. These factors remain invisible but they work effectively at atomic level.
