This assignment is built upon the theories you learnt in Module 1. It will help you evaluate your knowledge of the concepts you are expected to have learnt at the end of this module. It will help you describe theories and apply them to real life situations. Your paper should discuss the elements of crime and recognize the origins of criminal behavior depicted in this case. Using two different views of crime and two different explanations of crime in the context of different criminological schools of thought, explain the crime that Fresen (the offender) committed
Rational choice theory comes to one's mind when the Biscayne Park framing case is brought up. This theory explains the reason why some people are alluded towards committing a crime, owing to the mere reason that they feel its potential risks are lesser than the rewards केने would expect and the crime would help boost their self interest.
The cops wanted to increase their crime and caught stats at the department, and hence, to do exactly that, they falsified evidence and hence a probe to implicate a black teen.
The other theory would be the strain theory. The police department failed to reach the standards of the society with respect to the societal expectations, and hence are lured towards instant gratification of wrongful means to placate themselves and the society.
Fresen was a tax offended since 8 years, while holding position in the office. According to the Class School of thought, man is a calculating animal. This goes entirely true for how Fresen behaved. Despite knowing the morality clause, he knew what would best serve his purpose economically, which led him to commit the crime in a row. Amd this school of posited on the idea of free will, that is, crime is committed with free will, to seek pleasure and avoid pain.
