Why does LINUX
OS has limited graphics and mostly utilize the
CLI?
- Linux has limited graphics and more command-line interface
because it was first made for the developers and technically strong
people like security testers, hackers, etc. which makes the
operating system target the user base they intend to.
- The command-line interface makes it easy for the developers in
developing using the command line are more trivial and the stream
of output is also easy and more informative than that in the
graphical user interface.
- The command-line applications are easily used along with the
batch files or scripts making it more easy and reliable for the
users in order to build something using the operating system.
- The CLI also makes it easy for the user to identify the input
and output streams which can also be easily redirected and also
allow the information to be read by the sender or the receiver from
the files or any other application that is available in the
system.
- It also makes easy for the users to maintain multiple
applications running through the small command prompts and with
this it gives people the opportunity to keep track on the network
and different types of configurations of the device.
- As of now, Linux is moving towards the GUI designs with recent
updates but still, the operating system has a lot to do in terms of
the graphical user interface but it is always supporting the CLI
which makes it's users save time and easily maintain the tasks that
they are supposed to perform.
Hence, these are the reasons why Linux OS have limited graphics
and mostly makes use of the CLI.
