1. In your opinion, how is social media changing the political process in the United States? Is the change good or bad? Why?

One of the most important tasks of social media is to connect people. Although it was only used for personal communication in the beginning, today, it’s considered to be a one stop shopping where almost all the activities in the society take place, starting from dating to marketing a complex product. The biggest transformation that social media brought into the society is that it is helping to shape the way politics was conducted, political ideologies were shared and political changes were brought to the society. Because people are connected to each other, sharing news about what’s going on around them becomes very easy, thus most of the groups organise themselves in social media thus, erupt just like the volcano at an unexpected time. On the other hand, political parties also engage in social media in sharing their ideologies and gathering support. Politicians have understood the importance of the social media well thus, they try to manipulate it to their favor. However, people are aware of the political process more than before because they are able to gain valuable information about all the parties and policies thus, it helps them make better political decisions in terms of who to support.
