Expert Solution

1: Conflict is something that is inevitable especially if you are operating with others. Once a team oversteps the mark of a healthy distinction of opinion, in that case getting rid of conflict needs respect and patience. Conflict is not essentially a bad issue, though. A healthy and constructive conflict could be a part of high-functioning groups. Conflict arises from the difference in point of view or an opinion about something, sometimes these conflicts result in a positive effect and sometimes causes a negative effect. The human experience of conflict involves our emotions, perceptions, and actions; we tend to experience it on all 3 levels, and that we have to be compelled to address all 3 levels to resolve it. We need to replace the negative experiences with positive ones. Now solving a conflict could be a difficult task and at the same time if the manager has the skills and knowledge that conflict could be solved in a positive manner.

  1. Embrace Conflict
The first step is to embrace the conflict is to embrace it rather than trying to avoid it because it doesn't matter how hard you try conflicts are inevitable and one point time a conflict is going to arise between people that you are going to need to address. If we try to avoid it like nothing ever happened then it's only going to worsen the relationships between people as time goes on.
  2. Have a talk
Once you have embraced that there is a conflict going on then you need to have a talk with both parties in order to make sure that everyone gets to express the situation from their point of view. You should give adequate time to both to talk rather than giving one person the monopoly to talk or you giving your assumption all the time. There should be a balance between the two to solve the conflict without causing any negative effects.
  3. Listen Carefully
Having a talk is one thing and actually listening is another. There is no point in talking if you are not listening and just giving your opinions and assuming things that you don't even fully understand. It is an important factor in resolving conflicts that you understand the situation clearly and it does not matter if you need someone to repeat their point as long as you get a clear idea of the situation.

  4. Reach Agreement
Now comes the point when you clearly understand the situation and know the reason for conflict. There could be a lot of disagreements between the parties but you need to look for something that both parties can agree upon. You need to strike a balance in the agreement and it should definitely not be biased towards one because then it only going to cause further problems and demotivation for the team. Reaching agreement while not giving any kind of leverage to one over another is the way to successfully solve a conflict.

Now even if you have solved a conflict there could be need for further evaluation and analysis to make sure there is no further disagreement and for your own growth as well. Evaluating the results is going to help to see what you did wrong and what you did right and what changes you could make in your strategy to make it more effective and efficient, for the next time any conflict arises.

2: Strategic leadership vs Visionary leadership
Strategic leadership refers to a manager's ability to make a strategic vision for the organization and to encourage and persuade others to accumulate that vision whereas Visionary leaders are driven by the vision of what an organization can become. Strategic Leadership enhance the prospects for organizations's long-term success while still maintaining monetary stability for the short-run by influencing others to make voluntary Selections. The objective of visionary leaders is to move forward the corporate into a broader direction while promoting unity and still be successful when there are uncertainties, whereas strategic leaders build ownership and alignment within their workgroups to implement a change.

The main task of visionary leaders is to move the company forward towards innovation and cultivate a new direction. Therefore, if a business is trying to reach the next level and face new opportunities and initiatives or re-evaluate their vision, then a visionary leader is probably going to be the person they need. Troublesome transitions require the traits of a visionary leader, and it's essential that firms understand what kind of thought process a leader has that they need. On the opposite hand, the strategic leaders acknowledge the necessity to include aspects of each of the analytical and human dimensions to effectively drive the organization forward but how well this actually works varies considerably from leader to leader. The objective of strategic leadership is to motivate and encourage workers to be more productive and efficient by promoting innovation and boosting strategic productivity. Strategic leaders may also use rewards or incentive programs to encourage workers and facilitate them to reach their goals. Whether one is a strategic leader or a visionary leader, both have their own merits and demerits, and both work in their own way to take the company towards success and accomplish its goals.
