Utilitarianism offers a powerful and common sense consequentialist theory of ethics. Should we adopt it as our theory of ethics?

Consequentialism is similar like utilitarian principle which says that the result or outcome of any act would decide whether the act was right or wrong. It is essentially the view that standardizing houses rely simply upon outcomes.

Whereas,

According to utilitarianism, the action who benefits the majority then it is morally right. And, if any action cause loss or make suffer the majority then morally it's wrong. The right or wrong of any action can be decided by their outcomes. Rule Utilitarianism is a ethical speculation this is powerful inside the development of person's morals and which have a all the way down to positive significance in assessing ethical problems in modern era.

Yes, we could adopt it as theory of ethics as utilitarianism, consequentialiam and ethics, all three concept talks about morality and right and wrong things. Ethics could be defined as the general principles which govern people act and behavior. Ethics helps in differentiate between right or wrong act. There is not much difference between ethics and morality as both words are used interchangeably. Ethics are set by the society whereas morality is developed itself among individuals. It is important to act ethically because it is necessary for showing humanity and increase the positive acts. In order to make a better society, every individual should follow the ethical principles and adopt the morality for serving the mankind. Ethics helps people to do good act and leave the path of bad things. It also allow people to recognize their inner strength and always run life on good acts. The crime and negative things has already exists in our society and to balance these things people should follow ethical rules and they should be able to differentiate between right or wrong act.
