In the following scenarios, explain the significance of each test result. Discuss the means by which each scenario is possible.
9. Patient has positive nucleic acid test and detectable IgM to a particular pathogen.
10. Patient has a negative nucleic acid test, and IgG antibodies detectable to a particular pathogen.
11. What is the significance of rolling out widespread serologic testing for COVID-19? What difference can availability of this testing modality make in terms of our ability to plan the most appropriate response to this pandemic?
9, To confirm virus infection it involve the detection of virus,
viral nucleic acid antigen or antibody or combination of both as a
diagnosis after the onset of illness virus can be detected in the
serum for 4-5days. During this early stage this virus nucleic acid
can be used to detect infection. In the acute phase of infection
IgM antibodies are the first immunoglobulin isotype appear. It
increase 80% by after 4 -5 days and 90% by 10days. it can be
undetectable after 2to3 months. positive nucleic acid test and IgM
detection indicate the presence of infection with certain bacterial
agent and patient is in acute infection stage. it provide
preliminary evidence of infeciton.
10, IgG shows someone had a virus and now protected from the virus
if it showing negative nucleic acid result it can be detected in
10-14days in the patient blood after infection occurs. it indicate
a false reaction force and shows a false neculic acid test.
11, The serologic test used for COVID 19 called antigen tests that
confirm the virus by looking at viral RNA or PCR tests. Diagnosing
someone in this pandemic with who might experience COVID 19 with
symptoms or without symptoms use a serological test to determine
the presence of a virus. Immunity-antibody test that makes sure
with the positive antibody. qPCR(quantitative polymerase chain
reaction) identifies nucleic acid, RNA genome virus component from
few days after infection even if they are without symptoms, after a
couple of weeks after the first symptoms appear when they are
acutely ill.
