Sigmund Freud is the pioneer of the Psychoanalytic Approach. Existence/ presence of unconscious feelings, desires and thoughts are the fundamental prerequisite according to Psychoanalytic Approach.

Releasing the repressed feelings and desires and channelising unconscious into conscious is the core facet in this context.

Strengths-

1- Psychoanalytic approach helps to deeply analyse and comprehend the varied desires and feelings.

2- Constructive changes can be initiated in human beings through psychoanalysis.

3- It concentrates on developmental attributes.

4- Gender issues can be better uderstood and dealt with.
