Describe the challenges that Canada and the United States had to overcome to establish themselves as transcontinental powers. (Ch 25)
Unlike the thirteen British colonies that split away to form the United States of America, Canadians assembled their confederation by increasing capable government inside the system of British realm. The test was to discover regular protected ground on which to join assorted regions and people groups. The Metis Rebellions indicated how sharp the distinctions could be, yet political trade off under solid yet moderate initiative won, while after 1867 the Canadian Pacific Railway and the augmentation of the message gave the interchanges foundation to the new country. The foundation of United States as a trans continental power was a generously progressively fierce procedure, as showed in both the Mexican-American War, battled to torque huge domains from Mexico, and in the American Civil War, when arguments about western extension lead to struggle among free and slave states.
