Netflix is a content streaming company with a large database of movies, cartoons, documentaries etc. Since almost all activity these days happens online, media is also better sold that way. The needs of customers of different age, race, gender characteristics needs to be addressed for the sustained operation of such businesses.

People in the age group of 55+ are mostly retired or will be nearing retirement. Their tastes will be greatly different from that of youth. Netflix can bring in more content from the 1980s in their database for the elderly to watch. 1980s will be when the 55+ would have been in their youth and they may cherish watching their favorites during retirement ages. It will be good to bring in more travelogues as people may go travel during those ages. Decisions need addressal are if bringing in more 1980s stuff will be worth it or not? Will you end up wasting your storage? Will travelogues be a good choice? Should netflix go for an elderly people specific plan? etc. SWOT analysis, decision matrix etc. are good for analyzing this information.

China, Crimea, North Korea, Syria etc. are unlike other countries. In these countries, the content will be strictly regulated, and governmental rules will be highly regulated. It will be better for netflix to teaming up with existing companies in these countries to get involved in the market A team needs to be set up for researching the current laws and regulations in these countries. Then country specific action plan needs to be prepared from Netflix's end and then it be relayed to the countries’ media regulatory. If ease of policies and procedures needs to be made, it shall be done. The decisions need analysis are if netflix knows the target countries regulations fully? Can they deliver the service without teaming up with already existing agencies? If not, then which agency to team up with? etc. Strategy map, pugh matrix etc. are decision making tools to be employed for this process.

For sustaining business, netflix needs to analyze competitor's status in the market. Planning on the target revenue needs to be established. Current status needs to be analyzed and then a strategy for achieving the target needs to be finalized and implemented. They can bring in more content into their data base. More packages can be introduced in which the users can select the content that they want to watch etc. They can plan on having niche contents that can be developed under their own brand. If cartoons and other children's stuff can be developed which is available on netflix alone, it will good for business. Decisions needs to be addressed are: The target revenue and in how many years the target is to be achieved? Plan on introducing new products etc. Strategy diagram, decision matrix etc. can be employed for analyzing this.
