SuperSportsGames is a famous sport competition, held in Riyadh every year. Since its first edition in 2001, it has gone through several major changes regarding its structure, length and location, but the tickets have always been sold in a traditional way: through two events agencies. The organizers decided to completely modernize the tickets selling system and created the following concept. From this year on, the tickets will be sold in three distinct ways: traditionally, i.e. by the two events agencies, in electronic format directly on the competition website, and through SuperAirLines. All parties will have access to the same unique tickets database of the new system, to avoid double selling. A partnership with the SuperAirLines company needs to be set up, such that SuperAirLines can sell combi-tickets including both the competition admission fee and the flight travel to the competition venue at reduced price, from anywhere in Saudi Arabia. This way, more sport fans would have easier and cheaper access to SuperSportsGames. Moreover, the system will have to be extended to support not only Arabic, but also English. Since tickets will also be sold online, SuperSecurePayment will be contracted to provide and ensure the security of the online payment service. The SuperSportsGames event manager will take care and negotiate all these details with the involved parties. Additionally, upon arrival at the competition venue, each participant has to self-check in at a touch screen terminal, which scans the barcodes on his/her ticket and issues a bracelet with an electronic chip. This bracelet can be used to load money, such that whenever (s)he wants to purchase snacks or beverages, (s)he does not have to use cash any more, thus reducing waiting times. This measure was initiated by the program manager and will be deployed by SuperRestaurants Inc. Lastly, the way the payment transactions are performed has to be audited by an external company at the end of the competition, since this is a public event, where the municipality of Riyadh is also involved - allowing free use of the public space.
Q2: Identify one business goal, two functional requirements and two non-functional requirements.
Business Goal:
- Clearly, we can see that SuperSportsGames want to expand
their business and provide ease of using the services to the
consumers. They are moving to latest trend in technology and are
giving multiple options to the consumer to use their services.
Also, doing partnership with a third part airlines clearly shows
they want to attract their userbase in using their services as
well.
SuperSportsGames is giving discounts along with flight tickets and
booking tickets which indicates that the userbase now will be
outside Riyadh as well. Another thing that shows this is the
language options. Including English for system supports shows
this.
Business goal is EXPANSION OF THE BUSINESS AND INCREASING
USER BASE
Functional Requirement:
- First, they will be needed a IT infrastructure to set up a common
database and an application that connects to the common database
that sells the tickets.
- Second, they have to integrate the secure payment gateway which
is the top most priority along with building the application and
the database.
- Also, to add one more we can say, they would be need support for
English as well. Therefore, the system must be revised to include
English too.
Non Functional Requirement:
- As we have a payment gateway, any payment made through
it must have a clear record and the portal should be secure to
avoid any bad user experience.
- As the userbase is going to grow with the current expansion plan,
the website/system should be able to handle large volume of user
traffic on its domain and the availability should be more than 99%
during a day.
