3. List the steps an agent could take when establishing a rehabilitation program with the employee.
Hip Fracture:-
? It can be determine by abnormal position of the hip and
leg.Actually X-ray will confirm the fracture and exactlly where it
happened and which bone involved in this..If x-ray does't show a
fracture clearly can go with MRI or bone scan to see small hairline
fracture.
Treatment for hip fracture mostly with combination of
surgery,rehabilitation and medication..
?Surgery: The type of surgery it depends the location and how
severe it is ans also your health condition and age will determine
the surgery..
?--internal repain using screws: Metal screws are inserted into
bone and hold it together..
--Partial hip replacement: If the ends of the broken bone are
damaged..it can be removed and install a metal replacement..
?--Total hip replacement: upper femur and socket in your pelvic
bone are replaced with prosthesis
?Rehabilitation:
? Physical therapy will be given on range of motion exercise and
strengthening muscles.It depends on type on surgery and if anyboby
at home according to that you will go and perform this program..you
may work with occupational therapist to learn techniques for going
daily routine..such as bathing,toilet,dressing etc..occupation
therepist will determine which one will help you whether chair or
walker to improve your mobility..
? Work place rehabilitation is the process of restoring injured
staff to their maximal physical,psychological,social,vocational and
economical capacity..The university aim to cure injured staff and
make them return to wrk safely..The university responsible for
injury management for the entire rehabilitation process..To apply
for wrker's compensation,they must provide claim form..depending on
type of injury or any surgery has been done compensatory benifit
will be paid by workcover..when the treatment exceeds from the
particular amount staff will be responsible for payment..(IPaMA)
the injury prevention and mangement advisor is a person who is
qualified to perform the rehabilitation and return to work
coordinator under the Act of regulation..consulatant must advise
their availablity of workspace rehabilitation and suitable
duites..
