what criteria would you use to determine wheter synesthesia is a disorder or a variation of normal sensation and perception?
The synesthesia is not a disease or disorder and it is is often refer to as being a condition, because it doesn’t interfere with normal daily life activities. It is a condition in which a sensory stimulus is presented to one sense (i.e., hearing a word) and a secondary sense is activated (i.e., you see a color when you hear the word). Those with the condition are called synesthetes. I believe synesthesia is a variation of normal sensation and perceptions.
