Education plays an important role
in female and male labour force participation .As we know women in
all around the world have low labour participation as compared to
men . This increases the gender disparity .Below are the effects of
education on female and male labour participation
- The
first thing it does is that it develops women for job and
employment opportunities .It acts as a vital tool to decrease the
gender disparity and the wage gap .
- It
empowers women to become more financially independent .As we know
gender roles in our society keeps the women restricted to unpaid
home labour work . For men it helps to get the high paying primary
sector jobs .
- It
makes women less vulnerable as they get socially and politically
activated and also a financial source makes them more stable . And
they get involved in organised labour .
- It
develops skills and necessary qualifications for women which is
required by the employers in the market .
- Most
men get skill and vocational training from various education
institutions and enter the primary job sector . But the ratio of
vocational training and skill development of women as compared to
men is very low most of the time women and in secondary and
tertiary sector jobs .
- Education helps both men and women to get out of
the less paid and unorganized sector to work in the formal sector
.
All the above mentioned things help
in increasing the labour force participation for both men and
women.
