Nurse Client Relationship:

It is a therapeutic interaction aimed for the wellbeing of the client. It begins from the time of admission of the client and ends at the time of discharge from care.

1. Begining stage: develop trust and respect
2. Second stage: identify problems
3. Third stage: find out solutions for the problem
4. Fourth stage: end the relationship after the fulfilment of the goals.

Essential Aspects:

1. Self awareness: before starting the relations the nurse and the client should understand that this relationship is to favour the speedy recovery of the client and it has a begining phase and a end phase. it is a goal oriented relationship

2. Set goals that are achievable:

3. Caring and Compassionate in realtionship

4. Empathy and Mutual respect: respect the client's physical, mental, social, cultural, ethic, spiritual aspects

5. Confidentiality: the confiedentiality of client should be maintained

6. Responsibility, Accountability:The is responsible towards the client and is accountable on her duties

7. Assertiveness: it is the ability to communicate your views and thoughts in a positive way. It is important to prevent transference (negative feeling client towards the nurse) and counter transference ( negative feeling of nurse towards client).

10. Good listening and crtical thinking skills: helps to find out client's problems in order to set goal.

12. Act as client advocate, decision maker, teacher, counselor, resource person.
