Personality testing is an method for testing employees personality which leads to employees selection for the required job. Personality testing is also used by firms to select appropriate employees. There are five factors used for personality testing that are conscientiousness , emotional aspects, agreeableness, extroversion, and openness towards job.
There are many complicating factors which affets personality testing. Candidates may not have incentive to disclose their ture personality. They can fake their personality acording to the requirments of the job. They can make false statements about their experience . The recruiter may not have any evidence or proofs about the information provided by the candidate. The personality traits can be same of all the candidates which leads to lack of diversity. Applicants personality may be good enough for the job but the experience and training of the applicant can make huge impact on the work. Personality testing is not accurate all the time as the success of the candidate is not predicted.
