Essentialism mainly focuses on tradition basic skill and knowledge thoroughly by the students.

i. Selection of courses

Essentialism is a subject-centered philosophy. it is mainly focused on how the student learns more than what the student learns. It helps in teaching basic skills and knowledge of the past to the student to take to another level to make the student live in meaningful life in the present society. This philosophy can be used for making the curriculum of new courses. Base on the curriculum the students can choose a suitable course for them.

ii. Teaching methods

Essentialism gives opportunities to the teacher to teach discipline and hard work. They should be experts in teaching and accountable for student learning. The teaching methods or strategies that can be chosen by the teacher includes lecture, memorization, homework, teaching and subject-centered, etc. This helps in the proper selection of the teaching method.

iii. Involvement of students in the classroom

The students should actively involve in the class. They should be ready to learn what the teacher will teach in the class. The role of the students is listen and learn, trust that the teacher knows the best.
